Sarah Sclarsic

Sarah Sclarsic is a graduate student at the MIT Media Lab. Previously, she worked as a technology entrepreneur developing scalable solutions to pressing problems. Sarah was an early employee at biotechnology company Modern Meadow, which developed methods to grow leather and meat without animals. She also co-founded Getaround, a peer-to-peer carsharing company. Sarah holds a B.A. in Bioethics from Harvard, where she conducted research on the molecular basis of learning and memory formation. Currently, she is interested in a range of biotechnology areas including the analysis of proteins, the scalable production of biomaterials, synthetic biology strategies for climate remediation, and improved imaging technologies.
