Or Shemesh

Or, as a neuroscientist with a penchant for nanotechnology, joined the Boyden lab after working with silicon nanowire transistors adapted for in-vivo brain recording at Harvard University. Or obtained his PhD from Hebrew University of Jerusalem where he studied Alzheimer’s disease using an invertebrate neural culture model. In the Boyden lab, Or worked on innovative tools to study the activity of many neurons simultaneously in the living brain. He used both engineering and genetic methodologies to reach this end. His previous research and academic expertise include biology, psychology and electronic-engineering. After completing his postdoc, he went on to start a faculty job at the University of Pittsburgh.
