Jake Bernstein

Jake Bernstein joined the Boyden lab as an undergraduate during the Fall of his senior year, earned an S.B. in Physics at MIT, and later completed a Ph.D. working on novel architectures for interfacing to the brain for observation and control of neural dynamics. He developed optical fiber arrays for independent multisite neural modulation, and deployed optical stimulators for many experiments in the lab, and in collaborating labs. In the home stretch of his PhD, he worked on on new methods for recording neural data from many neurons in the brain. After graduation, he moved on to work at a neurotechnology startup company.
